Areas of Focus

After forming this group of parents across the District, we asked members what their concerns were and we found a repeated themes. From these we formed our areas of focus to service BOTH in-person learning and a virtual option to service all families.

Changes needed to the current DCPS COVID-Safety Plan to keep students safe, keep schools open, and empower families:

COVID Testing

Increased testing will provide a safer environment for students and greater peace of mind for parents and teachers.

Quarantine Protocols

When and how to quarantine should be simple, easy and provide quick notifications to the school community and close contacts. It should also allow for easy transition to virtual learning for the students and teachers.

The importance of proper and fully functional ventilation and filtration can not be minimized when you have children in enclosed spaces and an airborne pathogen.
